Bright QuickSupport

Bright Technologies QuickSupport is based on TeamViewer. QuickSupport is an applications which does not need to be installed or have administrative privileges on the local computer.

To obtain a license for Bright products, perform the following steps:

    1. Log in to the client workstation as “root” (Linux or Mac) or “Administrator” (Windows).
    2. Install the BRLM utility by either double-clicking on the installer file or typing the installer file name (with directory path) in a shell command prompt on the client onto which the software will be installed. The BRLM installer file name will be in the form of “brlm-[version]-[client_version]-installer.[file_type_extension]”. Complete the installation by following the instructions displayed on the screen.
      NOTE: If performing the installation using a remote login session with a Linux client (with which a desktop environment is not available), run the installer file in text mode by adding “--mode text” to the command line. Example: $ [path]/brlm-[ver]-RHEL6-client64-installer.run --mode text
    3. Run brlmhostid (at a command prompt) on the client workstation. A character string will be displayed similar to the following: 1:pc4:20:3291-D9B4-E304-18A7
    4. Email this character string to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it., and request a license for the software.
You may see a complaint that the user and/or group brlm could not be found. This complaint can be ignored.

Requirement for running DataMover and DataOptimizer on HyperFS: This daemon has to be installed on the HyperFS Server.
